Outstanding in the Field

  • Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center 10819 Carnation-Duvall Road Northeast Carnation, WA, 98014 United States (map)

From Outstanding in the Field – We are thrilled to return to this inspiring nonprofit farm and conservation center along the Snoqualmie River. Their team is deeply dedicated to regenerative agriculture, environmental education, native plant production and habitat restoration — and their 240 acres of farmland dotted with wildflowers, trees, and heirloom vegetables makes for quite a lovely view from the table. Oxbow’s farming crew grows 15 acres of organic vegetables for local groceries, restaurants, hunger relief agencies and schools, plus a vibrant farmstand and CSA. And on this glorious summer evening, guest chef Kristi Brown will get her pick of the season’s cream-of-the-crop. Her Seattle restaurant Communion is a celebration of community. The restaurant’s “Seattle Soul” cuisine tells the story of Seattle’s culinary landscape, drawing inspiration from the many diverse cultures and culinary traditions in the city’s local neighborhoods. We can’t wait to see what she does with the abundance of vegetables and herbs growing at Oxbow.
